The heart behind SuzCalls

Based in Johns Island, South Carolina, SuzCalls was founded on a simple truth: staying active, independent, and engaged is easier when you have someone caring in your corner. Discover how our personal accountability calls help turn good intentions into joyful daily action.

Inspired by Susan

SuzCalls started with something deeply personal: my wife, Susan—Suz. Watching her care for people throughout her life showed me the life-changing power of a natural listener who gently encourages others to keep going. We know that aging well is about more than living longer; it is about getting out of a chair, enjoying walks, staying connected, and pursuing meaningful days. SuzCalls turns that spirit of support into structured, friendly accountability four days a week.

A Personal Mission, Supported by Experience

SuzCalls was created around a simple idea: people often know what they need to do, but encouragement and accountability can help them follow through.

Our mission is to help people stay engaged with their commitments through regular, supportive conversations.

To support that mission, SuzCalls draws on NEXA's more than 40 years of experience and over 6,200 employees. This combination allows us to focus on what matters most: making accountability calls meaningful, encouraging, and useful.

Compassionate and dependable support

Behind every conversation is a dedicated team of trained professionals who understand the unique rhythms of older adulthood. We believe true accountability begins with respect and empathy—never judgment or lectures. Our callers listen first, celebrate every victory, and meet each individual with patience, dignity, and unwavering reliability so that every check-in feels like talking to a trusted friend.

Peace of mind for families

Family members want their loved ones to remain self-reliant and vibrant, but busy lives and distance can make daily check-ins difficult. We never replace family; we serve as an extra layer of caring support. Adult children can rest easy knowing someone dependable is listening, encouraging daily healthy habits, and keeping communication open when extra attention is needed.

"Knowing SuzCalls reaches out to my mom every week gives our whole family immense peace of mind. Mom looks forward to every call, and she is taking her daily walks again."
